Maurice Lowe New Cross Natural Therapy

I have been practicing at New Cross Natural Therapy Centre for twelve years following a five-year chiropractic degree at The McTimoney College of Chiropractic. Constantly looking and studying other techniques, seeking to improve patient outcomes I supplement my treatment, when appropriate, with other forms of physical therapy such as: Soft Tissue Release and Trigger Point Therapy for example.

I have also studied Medical Acupuncture and other forms of chiropractic such as Sacral Occipital Technique which I bring to my practice if suitable.

Foot posture can also play a role in some symptoms and I can advise in this and prescribe and make custom orthotics when necessary or required using the ICB heat moulded system.

The First Treatment

The first visit can take 60-70 minutes where a full history and physical assessment will be made to try and establish the cause of the problem and if suitable treat or alternative refer. If appropriate a treatment plan will be discussed and if in agreement, the first treatment will be made. The case history will include a detailed account of current and past symptoms while the physical assessment may include both orthopaedic and neurological tests.

If you have had any scans like MRI or X-Ray’s please bring along any details such as radiologist reports and also any medical records if appropriate or details of medication you may be taking. Please call if you would like to discuss this.

Patients are frequently required to undress to their underwear to enable a full inspection and gowns are available if required. Please also call/ email to discuss other suitable clothing if necessary.

Further Treatments

Further visits, if required, last 30-35 minutes when progress and response are closely monitored. The amount of treatments needed will vary depending on the condition but this will be discussed at the initial treatment and will be constantly assessed at each visit where any questions or queries can be discussed. Purely as a guide an average of 2-6 treatments may be needed.

McTimoney chiropractic can also be an effective treatment of pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy after the first trimester.
