What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a natural health care system which uses muscle testing to evaluate many functions of the body in the structural, chemical, neurological, and biochemical realms.

It originated in 1964 through the work of Dr. George Goodheart, a Chiropractor who pioneered this specialty. He discovered that the strength or weakness of every muscle was connected to the health or lack of health of a specific corresponding organ. He also determined that indicator muscles were associated with acupuncture meridians. Further research and development has expanded these ideas into the various forms kinesiology used today.

Kinesiology assesses the whole person to get to the root cause of the problem and not just concentrate on the symptoms. Quite often the problem is not where the pain, discomfort and symptoms lie. For example digestive issues could be emotionally based, a food sensitivity or a combination of the two. A structural issue in the lower back maybe because of an imbalance in the intestines, headaches may originate from a jaw imbalance and so on.

Nutrition also plays a major part in kinesiology. We may be eating some foods which are causing us problems such as constipation, indigestion, headaches, fatigue or I.B.S. type symptoms. Kinesiology food sensitivity testing assesses the foods that are right for you as an individual. The wrong food can also lower the immune system causing many other problems in the body.

Kinesiology uses specific lymphatic massage points, nutritional analysis, energy meridians and reflexes together with emotional techniques to balance holistically. Kinesiology taps into the biochemistry of the body so the practitioner can assess levels of imbalance via muscle testing.
