About Laura
My name is Laura Smart and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Reiki Practitioner. I provide private one-to-one counselling, hypnotherapy, and Reiki.
I am trained in and influenced by several approaches to therapy such as Gestalt (working with the whole- body, mind and spirit), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy), Inner Child Therapy, DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness and Hypnotherapy. I am familiar with and use the 12 Steps and SMART Recovery models where appropriate when working with addictions.
Alongside my private practice in London, I am also based in several residential rehabilitation treatment centres providing 1-2-1 therapy, group work and aftercare sessions. I have over a decades worth of expereinces working with addictions, mental health and previously managed a successful digital counselling service for 14-25 year olds; providing on line counselling and support, information and advice about mental health and emotional wellbeing.
The areas I work with include:

I work with a diverse range of clients, long and short-term; including people in recovery from alcoholism and other addictions, codependency and relationship problems, mental health and emotional well-being issues and unresolved childhood experiences now resulting in unhealthy behaviours and patterns that are painful, destructive and impacting the present.
